Philosophy for Children as Intercultural Philosophy: A Perspective of African Philosophy
Abstract: Why we can accept the idea that children can do philosophy? We can get some confirmation from African philosophy, whose form is very different from Eastern or Western philosophy, but in recent years it has been received a lot of attention in philosophical community. If african philosophy is welcomed, then the legitimacy of children’s philosophy can be taken into account. If we can accept "children's philosophy", then we must deal with the issue of how to deal with this philosophy, which involves the proposition of cross-cultural philosophy. What cross-cultural philosophy actually talks about is co-existecne, not the dissolution of horizons. It is not that we replace children's culture with adult culture, but the symbiosis of two cultures. The philosophy of children is not for the "dissolving of horizons" between children and adults. We do not need to over-stigmatize the adult world, nor to exaggerate the children's world. Because as a cross-cultural communication, the difference between the two and the maintenance of the uncoordinated difference is very important.Philosophy for Children is to deal with the problem of "intermediation", to answer the question of how adults seek practical wisdom in the tension of thinking with children. Among them, children's thinking needs the enlightenment of adult thinking to be socialized, and adult thinking also needs the care of children's thinking to maintain their creativity. The two cultures need to learn from each other to promote the sound and rational development of the whole society.
