湖南师范大学教育科学现金网 副教授，硕士生导师。南京师范大学和加拿大英属哥伦比亚大学联合培养博士。主要从事学前教育理论与童年哲学研究。近年来出版了专著《幼儿园的诞生》，在《学前教育研究》、《教育学报》等刊发表论文多篇，并有数篇文章被《新华文摘》和《人大复印资料》转载。
